Overview
A squawk is a report of a maintenance issue or discrepancy found on an aircraft. Reporting squawks promptly helps keep your fleet safe and well-maintained.
When to Report a Squawk
Report a squawk whenever you notice:
- Mechanical issues or malfunctions
- Damage to the aircraft
- Instruments not functioning properly
- Unusual sounds, vibrations, or behaviors
- Missing or damaged equipment
- Any discrepancy from normal operation
Steps to Report a Squawk
- Navigate to Squawks - Click Squawks in the navigation bar.
- Click New Squawk - Opens the squawk report form.
- Select the aircraft - Choose which aircraft has the issue.
- Enter the occurrence date - When you discovered the issue.
- Describe the issue - Be specific and detailed about what's wrong.
- Indicate if grounding - Check Grounding if the aircraft should not fly until fixed.
- Add comments - Any additional notes for maintenance.
- Attach files - Upload photos or documents if helpful.
- Click Create Squawk - Submit your report.
Grounding Squawks
Mark a squawk as "grounding" if the issue makes the aircraft unsafe or unairworthy. Grounding squawks:
- Show with a red indicator on the fleet status
- Display warnings to anyone with a reservation
- Should be taken seriously - don't fly with grounding issues
Tips
- Report squawks as soon as you notice them - don't wait until after your flight.
- Be specific in your description so maintenance knows exactly what to look for.
- When in doubt, mark it as grounding - safety first.
- Photos are very helpful for visual issues like damage or wear.
