A squawk is a report of a maintenance issue or discrepancy found on an aircraft. Reporting squawks promptly helps keep your fleet safe and well-maintained.

When to Report a Squawk

Report a squawk whenever you notice:

  • Mechanical issues or malfunctions
  • Damage to the aircraft
  • Instruments not functioning properly
  • Unusual sounds, vibrations, or behaviors
  • Missing or damaged equipment
  • Any discrepancy from normal operation

Steps to Report a Squawk

  1. Navigate to Squawks - Click Squawks in the navigation bar.
  2. Click New Squawk - Opens the squawk report form.
  3. Select the aircraft - Choose which aircraft has the issue.
  4. Enter the occurrence date - When you discovered the issue.
  5. Describe the issue - Be specific and detailed about what's wrong.
  6. Indicate if grounding - Check Grounding if the aircraft should not fly until fixed.
  7. Add comments - Any additional notes for maintenance.
  8. Attach files - Upload photos or documents if helpful.
  9. Click Create Squawk - Submit your report.

Grounding Squawks

Mark a squawk as "grounding" if the issue makes the aircraft unsafe or unairworthy. Grounding squawks:

  • Show with a red indicator on the fleet status
  • Display warnings to anyone with a reservation
  • Should be taken seriously - don't fly with grounding issues

Tips

  • Report squawks as soon as you notice them - don't wait until after your flight.
  • Be specific in your description so maintenance knows exactly what to look for.
  • When in doubt, mark it as grounding - safety first.
  • Photos are very helpful for visual issues like damage or wear.
