What's New in Centerline - March 2026 Update

We made a bunch of updates and squished a handful of bugs this month!
Required Acknowledgment Notifications
Notifications can be marked as "Required Acknowledgment" when sending to members. Recipients will see a blocking pop-up that must be dismissed before using the app. Perfect for safety bulletins, rule changes, or anything the club needs every member to read.
Flight Overdue Reminders
If a flight runs past its scheduled end time, the pilot now receives an automatic reminder via in-app notification, email, or SMS. The current flight card also stays visible for 1 hour past the scheduled end so you can still use the Finish Flight button.
Deep Links
Reservations, squawks, and events can now be shared as direct links. Click the link icon on any item to copy a URL that opens straight to that record. Dashboard cards (upcoming flights, current flight, etc.) now link directly to events, squawks, and reservations.
Aircraft Visibility Improvements
All members can now view the full schedule, maintenance, squawks, and logs for every aircraft in the organization. Reservations and log entries are still restricted to aircraft you're checked out on, but you have full read access across the fleet.
Navbar Density Setting
A new preference in the profile menu lets you toggle the desktop navigation between comfortable (icon + text) and compact (icon-only with tooltips).
Your Reservations Stand Out
Your own reservations now show in green on the calendar instead of teal, making them easy to spot at a glance.
Instructor Tracking on Reservations
Booking a lesson or a checkout ride? You can now assign a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) to any reservation. The instructor appears on the calendar, in reservation details, and when editing bookings — so everyone in the club knows who's instructing which flight. Look for the instructor dropdown when creating or editing a reservation, and the graduation cap icon on calendar tiles.
Per-Aircraft Notification Controls
Clubs with bigger fleets told us notifications were getting noisy. Now you can mute cancellation, squawk, and back-early alerts on a per-aircraft basis.
Head to Profile > Notifications > Aircraft Alerts and you'll find a toggle grid — aircraft down the left, notification types across the top. Everything is on by default. Toggle off the planes you don't fly, and your inbox gets quieter.
If someone cancels your reservation, you'll always be notified regardless of mute settings.
Smarter Flight Time Log Gaps
The flight time log now highlights missing entries between recorded flights. Instead of just colored cells, you'll see a clear gap row showing the missing hobbs/tach range and calculated time. Hit the + button on any gap row and the new entry form pre-fills the date, time, and hobbs/tach values — so closing gaps takes seconds, not minutes.
Deep Link Sign-In
Clicking a link in a notification email used to drop you at the dashboard after sign-in. Now Centerline remembers where you were headed and takes you straight there. Click a squawk notification, sign in, land on the squawk. Click an event link, sign in, see the event.
Maintenance Creator Tracking
Maintenance reservations now show who created them, so there's no more guessing which admin or mechanic scheduled a block.
Default Reservation Length
We change the default reservation length from 2 hours to 3 hours because you always want to do a few more laps in the pattern!
Bug Fixes
Fixed next flight countdown showing "Tomorrow" for flights 2+ days away
Backup reservation cancellations no longer prompt for a reason or send org-wide notifications
Phone number is now required when accepting an invitation
Removed the Club Instructor checkbox from user profiles, settable by admins
Toned down SMS notification messages (replaced exclamation marks with periods)
