Paying Your Balance

Last updated 7/20/2026

Overview

If your club charges for flight time, dues, or fees, you can see exactly what you owe — and, if your club has set it up, pay it — right inside Centerline. There's no separate portal to log into and no waiting for a paper invoice. Your Charges tab is a running ledger of every charge and credit on your account, and it's the same data your club's treasurer sees, so the number you're looking at is the number of record.

How you pay depends on what your club has enabled. Some clubs publish payment instructions (Zelle, Venmo, a mailing address for checks); others let you pay by card or bank transfer directly through Centerline. This article covers what you'll see as a member.

Finding Your Charges

  1. Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner and open your Profile.
  2. Select the Charges tab.

The Charges tab appears whenever your club has billing enabled. It lists each entry with its date, the aircraft (if the charge came from a flight), a description, the charge or credit amount, and a running balance. Entries generated from a flight link back to the flight log so you can see exactly where a charge came from.

At the top you'll see your current balance. A positive balance means you owe the club; a credit balance means the club owes you or you're paid ahead.

Payment Instructions

If your club has published payment instructions, they appear near the top of the Charges tab — for example, a Zelle address, a Venmo handle, or where to mail a check. Follow those instructions to pay outside the app. Once your club records your payment, a credit will appear on your ledger and your balance will drop accordingly.

Paying Online

If your club has connected Stripe, you'll see a Pay Now button whenever you have an outstanding balance.

  1. Click Pay Now.
  2. Choose how you'd like to pay — typically card or bank transfer (ACH).
  3. Review the breakdown. The dialog shows the amount being applied to your balance and, if your club passes processing fees through, any surcharge added on top. The total you'll be charged is shown before you continue.
  4. Continue to Stripe's secure checkout to enter your payment details and confirm.

When the payment succeeds, a credit posts to your account automatically and your balance updates. You do not need to notify anyone — the payment reconciles itself.

If your club passes processing fees through to members, the surcharge is added at checkout. The credit applied to your balance is always the full amount you intended to pay toward what you owe; the fee is an additional charge on top, and you'll always see it spelled out before you confirm.

If You Think a Charge Is Wrong

The Charges tab is read-only — you can view your entries but not edit them. If a charge looks incorrect, contact your club's account owner or treasurer. They can review the underlying flight log or entry and correct it. Because charges generated from flights link directly to the flight log, most questions can be resolved by looking at the recorded Hobbs or tach times together.

Tips

  • Check your balance before it grows. Reviewing your Charges tab after each flight keeps surprises out of your account and makes month-end reconciliation painless.
  • Use the flight link to verify charges. If a flight charge looks high, click through to the linked flight log and check the recorded times and the rate that was applied.
  • Online payments are instant on your side. Once Stripe confirms, your balance updates immediately — there's no need to email the treasurer to say you've paid.
  • Keep your payment method handy. Bank transfers (ACH) usually carry lower fees than cards, so if your club passes fees through, paying by bank transfer may cost you less.
